RINGS RINGS RINGS

My Rings Eclectic ring arrived today,
and I couldn't be more pleased. It's fab!!!
Pictures can't do it justice, especially my blurry ones!

The acrylic band is a smooth foundation
for the multi-layered jeweled setting.
An outer tier of engraved copper surrounds
an elevated circuit of textured silver,
then a strand of small pearls,
before centering itself with crystal.
Very vintage-glam.

It's actually the newest addition to my collection.
I have three.
I don't think I can get enough of these rings!

BULLSEYE

Today I went to the Anna Sui For Target press preview.
It's a clothing line worth talking about. I'm not
allowed to post any of my pics from the collection
because the peeps at Target don't want the items
to be seen till the merchandise is in stores. So instead
I'll tease you by saying, RUN, DON'T WALK, to your nearest
Target in September!

I had the pleasure of speaking with her, and she told me
that the inspiration for the collection was a popular hit show.
(I'll give you a hint -- it's on the CW.)
While in China, she noticed that a lot of girls were asking
her about this particular show, and that's when she knew it was
a sensation and had mass appeal.

Btw, she said Target was a pleasure to work with,
and she had artistic control. Maybe that's why the clothes
are worth gossiping about.

FUN FOOTWEAR

Shoe designer Elisa Ferare says she doesn't follow trends,
and I totally believe her. Her fall 2009 collection consists
of a variety of styles, textures and embellishments, with no
definable theme. I can see obvious menswear and ballet influences,
but the rest is a shmorgisboard of panache.
See for yourself:

I have my eyes of these babies!

I like the unexpectedness of this line.
It's fun and whimsical and marches to it's own beat.

ROME IF YOU WANT TO

It's hard to watch Gladiator and not be distracted
by the voice in my head saying, "I really need those earrings,"
every time the character of Lucilla is onscreen!

Fortunately I don't have to be a gorgeous actress,
or born in 180 AD, to feel like a Roman lady.
Check out Byzantia!

Designer Stella Flame draws her inspiration
from the Byzantine and Ottoman empires.
The combination of oxidized silver, 24 karat gold,
filigree and cabochon gemstones is truly exquisite.
With each piece hand crafted in Istanbul,
the line is authentic and enchanting.

Royalty doesn't come cheap for us plebians,
but for these regal jewels it might be worth it!!

SERPUI PLEASE!

Two more of my black bag contenders for fall.

I'm not sure if I'll ever get over chain-link straps.

Both bags are by Serpui Marie.

They're in the running!

SHOE SHINE

Are these the latest high-end shoes to hit the racks at Bergdorfs? No.

Oh, I know, I know, it's Cesare Paciotti's fall collection. No.

This fab footwear is Project Runway contestant
Christian Siriano's fall 2009 collection for Payless.
I don't believe it! Tis true!

You have BOGO on the brain, don't you?

FERTILE GROUND

Super Fertile takes statement jewelry to new levels.
Season after season they produce over-the-top pieces
that are fun and down-right extreme. Right now I'm
drawn to the Hunger collection because it is BIG and bold
but also wearable. The line was designed to raise world
hunger awareness and is crafted with beads moulded to
look like staple foods such as corn, rice, and beans.
7% of proceeds go to OXFAM to help with the world food crisis.

Walk out in one of these babies and you're sure to get noticed!
Paired with a simple ensemble, these necklaces are like an
embellished neckline on steroids.

The Super Fertile website is worth checking out.
Trust me, you won't be disappointed or bored!
The collections are photographed in an array of
locations and modeled by a colorful cast of characters.
Their style is truly unconventional, and I appreciate
their fearlessness and individuality.

They like to keep things intimate with their customers,
so to purchase an item you have to contact them with a request.

DRAUGSVOLD DRAMA

My kind of drama!

one of the designers Melissa Draugsvold

Being a complete sucker for big baubles, it's no surprise
that I'm a huge fan of Draugsvold jewelry.
Recently I had the opportunity to meet one of the designers,
talk about the line and gush about how much I love it!
It couldn't have happened at a better time, because this
season's collection is better than ever. It's unpredictable,
decadent and retro. What more could you ask for?

The stylish New York resident confided that her boyfriend and
co-designer is an integral part of her design process.
She told me that often his suggestions keep her creations from
being over the top (which she admits she's sometimes guilty of).
Great chemistry, guys!
